JULE NIEMEIER WINS HER FIRST ITF JUNIORS TITLE!
TU-Player Jule Niemeier won the G1 tournament in Berlin! At the Allianz Kundler German Juniors the german #7 seeded, trained by TU- Coach Bastian Suwanprateep, played a great tournament, although the weather conditions were bad during some days.
Jule started with a confident 6:1 6:4 victory against the Rumanian Andreea Velcea. In the second round against Viktoriia Dema ( 4:6; 6:4; 6:4) and in the round of last 16 against the #11 seeded Finn Oona Orpana ( 6:3; 4:6; 6:3) Jule showed her class in really close Matches and won both in 3 set matches.
In the quarter final Jule had to face #14 seeded Clara Burel( FRA), who did not loose a single set in the previous rounds. Jule showed again a great performance and won in straight sets with 6:2 6:4. In the semis she had to play against a seeded player again, the #15 seeded Chinese Qinwen Zheng. At the score of 1:6 1:4 Zheng retired because of an injury, whereby Jule got trough into the final!
In the final Jule faced the Ukrainian Anna Laguza( #10). Jule dominated her opponent in the first set and won with 6:1. After an injury timeout of her opponent Jule had to fight. She did not play as well as in the first set. Laguza whereas played really good and led the second set with 5:1. Laguza already had 3 set points and everybody expected a third set. Jule did not stop fighting and turned around the second set. In the end she won the match with 6:1 7:5. Therefore Jule won her first title on the ITF Juniors Tour!
